Catering Manager

Job Summary

The Catering Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of events. The Catering Manager is focused on client relationships, member interactions, detailed execution, and customer service before, during, and after events. The Catering Manager helps clients to design a menu, curate an event, and identify a venue if not at Fork Food Lab. The Catering Manager is responsible for all of the logistics of event execution including procurement of food, beverage, rentals, and staffing, as well as design elements, and logistical preparations, such as checklists, packing lists, vendor contracts, etc.

 

Tasks:

-Sales & Marketing to corporate and private potential customers

-Design menu and event logistics

-Execute event logistics

-Conduct post-event evaluation

-Work directly with Fork’s members to procure food and beverage for event

 

Requirements:

-Previous experience in a managerial position in a catering company

 

Preferred:

-Strong communication skills

-High school diploma/GED

-ServSafe certification

 

Kitchen Attendant

Job Summary

The Kitchen Attendant is involved in nearly every aspect of the daily kitchen operations of Fork Food Lab. The Kitchen Attendant is focused on details, execution, cleanliness, organization, positive customer interactions, and staying on task in the hubbub of day-to-day operations. Food Safety is at the core of the Kitchen Attendant position. At times, the Kitchen Attendant will also be responsible for operating the Tasting Room, or helping out with catering/special events. For public events, the Kitchen Attendant will be an ambassador for our brand, creating a welcoming environment for each guest that enters the facility.

Tasks:
-Routine sweeping and mopping of floors
-Emptying trash bins
-Sanitize member tables
-Enforcing kitchen code of conduct with member companies
-Shipping and receiving packages
-Occasional dish washing
-Logging members use of kitchen
-Take inventory
-Serve as point of contact for members with equipment issues and questions

 

Requirements:
-Must be a resident of Portland
-High school diploma/GED
-Fluent English
-Ability to lift 50 pounds


Preferred:

-Previous catering/kitchen experience
-Strong communication skills
-ServSafe certification
-HACCP, SQF knowledge

From kale chips to fried seafood to maple syrup and gluten-free bread, our members are specialty food producers, food trucks, bakeries, and catering companies. Our goal is to give food entrepreneurs all the tools they need to create a successful business. Fork will house up to 45 full and part-time members, allowing each business to focus on their craft without the hassle of leases or purchasing equipment.
